  It's almost a 3-hour drive from Stockton to the park. Who knew?  R3P tried to back out but she was forced to go. ;-)  We took the moderate hike, which passed by Sempervirens Falls, a small but pleasant waterfall.  PICT1555.jpg  This, dear reader, is Slippery Rock. A climb we were not expecting to have to make.  First, a shot of R3P in front of a sign.  Ok, halfway up, looking back down. We ate our Subway sandwiches shortly thereafter. In the shade.  After lunch, the rest of the trail was extremely pleasant and easy.  Pete sitting on a log.  Pete standing next to a perfectly clear stream.  Apparently this tree fell across the stream and then over many years sediment built up behind it to the point that a small waterfall has been created. Ain't nature cool?  R3P trying to grab some of the tree's 15 minutes of fame...  Mean and Scary Pete. On a fallen tree.
