  Close-up of said behemoth.  And here's the nitty gritty, the unloved underside of the beautiful architecture. Fire escapes and trash chutes.  Early in my walk I noticed how beautiful the day was and realized I *have* to go up the Sears Tower.  Had a vague idea where it was and just wandered in the general direction until I found it.  Paid my $11.95 to great views like this one, looking south.  A close-up on the railyard below.  The southern shore of the lake.  Soldier Field and environs.  Looking northeasterly over the high rises.  The Hancock and its neighbors.  Here, we're looking northwesterly, out into the suburbs.  Straight to the west (young man).  And finally to the southwest and the immense flatness that is the central U.S.
