From the fog
For over twenty years the building seemed to face a red light. Empty, abandoned, and forgotten, it nearly faded into the valley fog...

Renovation and Adaptive Reuse
of the Historic Hotel Stockton
for Apartments, Restaurants, and Shops

After two decades of deterioration, a development team with the experience, fortitude, and unshakeable determination to tackle this giant undertaking has been put to the task. Today, the Hotel Stockton is poised once again to become a central and vibrant part of Downtown Stockton. The renovated building will feature street-level shops and restaurants, a dining and entertainment pavilion overlooking the deep water channel, and elegant and affordable apartments for seniors. The Residential portion will be completed by the end of 2004, and the ground floor restaurants, shops, and office space will be underway in 2005. The Hotel Stockton renovation is an integral part of the City of Stockton's downtown redevelopment project.

This web site has been created to follow the renovation process and to encourage members of the Stockton community to contribute their memories and experiences of both the original building and the new incarnation.
